Jungkook of BTS on Friday, June 7, released his new single titled “Never Let Go,” saying the track is his gift to the boy group’s fandom called ARMY.

According to BTS’ talent agency, HYBE, the track is dedicated to the group’s fans as “a message to never let go of each other.” It’s also a tribute ahead of BTS’ 11th debut anniversary on June 13.

Jungkook, who is currently completing his military enlistment, did a surprise release of “Never Let Go” and affirmed that he had been thinking of their fans while working on the song.

“ARMY, did you get the gift for the song? I hope you like it. I worked on it thinking about you from the beginning,” he told fans on Weverse.

“You might wonder if the hook is repeated for a long time. Actually, it’s a song that I wanted to show you along with the house genre dance. It’s a performance song. But I didn’t have time to host the show. It’s too bad. If I had to turn back time, I would have taken it somehow,” continued the K-pop star.

The main vocalist ended his message by thanking the fans for sticking with them over the past years.

“Anyway, it’s already our 11th anniversary. Haha. Thank you for always being with us. I hope you don’t get sick and stay healthy. It’s really hot in the summer, so be careful of the heat! Goodbye then,” he expressed.

Upon its release, the all-English song topped the iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 96 regions including the United States, Japan and Italy.

In 2023, Jungkook released his first solo album, Golden.

Meanwhile, all seven members of BTS are currently serving in the military.
