Amid the ongoing brouhaha on “It’s Showtime’s” “EXpecially for You,” former segment participant Nico Locco took a swipe at a “bully” whom he criticized for “belittling someone to make people laugh.”

Locco, who joined the segment in May alongside his actress ex-girlfriend Christine Bermas, aired his “rant” through his Instagram Stories on Thursday, June 6.

The actor opted not to drop any names, but noted, “I think we all know who I’m talking about.”

“If you have to make fun of people and take personal shots at them palagi to make people laugh, it’s so not funny. Para sa akin, it’s simply a lack of intelligence and creativity,” he stated.

“I’m so tired of seeing it paulit-ulit on TV. I won’t mention the show or network that repeatedly does it pero yeah, you know what I mean,” he continued.

The actor further stressed that such an action is done by a bully. “Belittling someone to make people laugh doesn’t make you a comedian. It makes you a bully.”

“I would love to see that specific person jump into their shoes for once para maramdaman niya what it feels like,” he added, without disclosing whom he was referring to. “Siguro he or she wouldn’t be laughing anymore.”

Netizens were quick to presume that Locco’s sentiment was about the “EXpecially for You” issue, which stemmed from a searchee’s supposed attempt to kiss a searcher on the cheek without consent.

Locco then shared via his Instagram Stories a report about how his post aimed to take a swipe at “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda—apparently confirming the netizens’ hunch.

Prior to this, Vice Ganda and his fellow hosts addressed the matter and stressed that they would not apologize for calling out the searchee involved. The hosts further disclosed that they already communicated with the searcher, who admitted she felt “off” over the searchee’s kiss attempt.

However, after such statement, a video of the searcher crying and lamenting how the show and the hosts “made her appear a liar” surfaced on social media.

“It’s Showtime” staff and hosts have yet to comment on the matter as of this writing.
