TWS sings about companionship, dreams in pre-release single ‘hey! hey!’

TWS — consisting of Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin — expressed their desire to reach their dreams in the track “hey! hey!” which is part of their second mini-album, “Summer Beat!”

“hey! hey!” was released on streaming platforms on Wednesday, June 5, and follows an “energetic” vibe as a prelude to the release of their upcoming mini-album “Summer Beat!” on June 24.

The track is a way of showing TWS’ shared dreams, with the members discovering “companionship” until they ultimately formed a team to “support each other along the way.”

“The track audibly captures the TWS members’ relentless pursuit of their goals and serves as a metaphor for [their] unwavering passion,” their label Pledis Entertainment said in a press statement.

The single is also a display of the group’s vibrant take on “boyhood pop,” and is meant to symbolize a “cool, ocean wave-like summer atmosphere.”

Also released the same day, the music video showed the members donning school uniforms as they celebrated the beginning of summer by snacking on lollipops, playing hoops at a basketball court, and exploring a beach.

Details on the group’s upcoming album, including the tracklist, are yet to be revealed.

TWS made their debut in January 2024 with the mini-album “Sparkling Blue.” The group’s name is an abbreviation of the phrase “Twenty Four Seven with Us,” in hopes of forging a strong connection with listeners.

The six-piece act is Pledis’ first male unit in nine years since Seventeen in May 2015.
