This is not the first time SB19 was considered for an award at an international awards ceremony.
They received a nomination at the Billboard Music Awards in 2021, MTV Europe Music Awards in 2021, and the Asia Artist Awards in 2023, the lattermost of which they won the Best Artist (singer) and Hot Trend awards.
Filipino connection
Other nominees of Filipino heritage include Olivia Rodrigo, who bagged the Favorite Ticket Of The Year, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Album, and Favorite Female TV Star (Kids) nods.
Filipino-Canadian actor Gordon Cormier was nominated for Best Male TV Star. At the same time, Filipino-American TikTok creator Bella Poarch is a nominee under the Favorite Social Media Star category.
The Nickelodeon-helmed awards ceremony, best known for pouring its signature green slime on the winners, will be held on July 13 at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, California. Winners will be decided through votes on its official site.
