“I love Adele for this! Why do people love to say cruel things like this? It’s so uncalled for and disgusting,” wrote one netizen on X.
“Adele always speaks her mind; that’s why I love her; she doesn’t give af,” said another X user.
Adele’s recent Instagram post was also flooded with comments about the recent interaction, with most thanking the Grammy winner for her remark, while some ridiculed her for standing up against the basher.
“Happy Pride!! Thanks for always being the biggest ally,” said one fan.
“Pride sucks so does your music. It’s called freedom of speech, and obviously you don’t like that,” remarked one IG user.
However, after the video made the rounds online, others on social media who claimed to be at the show said that Adele may have misheard the attendee’s remark.
They said that the audience member actually yelled, “Work sucks!”as a response to the singer’s discussion about her busy work schedule while she’s on stage.
“I was in the section next to him. He said work sucks because she mentioned something about working. It was all very awkward,” claimed a netizen on X.
