BINI’s Mikha a crowd favorite at Star Magic All Star Games

Mikha Lim of BINI was one of the crowd favorites at the recent Star Magic All Star Games on Sunday, June 2, after she was tapped to be the setter of the volleyball team Lady Setters.

Lim was the setter of the women’s volleyball team at the all-star sports event, held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. The team was eventually taken down by the Lady Spikers in three sets, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18.

The BINI member was nonetheless named the Best Setter at the event. She was also included in this year’s Mythical Six joining Reign Parani, Awra Briguela, Janah Zaplan, Analain Salvador, and Vivoree Esclito.

The official X (formerly Twitter) page of the P-pop girl group also congratulated Lim on her milestone.

“Best setter na nga sa volleyball, best setter pa ng kilig sa mga puso namin. Boogsh! Congratulations to our #StarMagicAllStarGames2024 Mythical 6 member and Best Setter for 2 consecutive years, @bini_mikha,” the post read.

Lim was also supported by her bandmates Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, and Sheena on the sidelines of the game.

The girl group also performed their hit songs “Pantropiko” and “Karera” at the halftime show.

‘Most important’ experience

Lim took to her X page to thank her fans and bandmates for showing their “utmost support,” saying “having fun” was the “most important” part of her experience.

“I just wanna say thank you BINI girls for doing your best to watch me play and thank u to my teammates [and] BLOOMS for giving your utmost support (i got shy sorry) We lost but I had so much fun and that’s what’s important,” she wrote.

Lim considers herself a sports junkie with volleyball as her favorite. In her pre-debut days, she was usually chosen as a setter on a volleyball team and was a cheerleader in high school.

In an ABS-CBN News report, the BINI member said she considers Alas Pilipinas captain Jia de Guzman as her inspiration in the sport.

Aside from Lim, other celebrities who participated in the sports event were Donny Pangilinan, Gerald Anderson, Ronnie Alonte, and Anji Salvacion, to name a few.
