Miss Universe Philippines 2012 Janine Tugonon announced that she is expecting a baby girl, saying she’s excited to welcome the “new season” of her life.
Tugonon confirmed her pregnancy in a series of photos on Instagram on Sunday, June 2, showing off her baby bump while donning a printed maxi dress.
“Exciting times, new goals set and new season in life ahead. Baby girl en route,” the beauty queen-turned-model captioned her post with the hashtags “First time mom,” “Let’s do this,” and “This is gonna be fun.”
Tugonon’s post earned support from her fellow beauty queens in the comments, including Pia Wurtzbach, Katrina Dimaranan, Gazini Ganados, Ariella Arida, Angelia Ong, Lara Quigaman, Meiji Cruz, Alaiza Malinao, Shamcey Supsup, and Rabiya Mateo.

The now US-based Tugonon kept her lips sealed on the identity of her baby girl’s father.
Tugonon came close to the Miss Universe title in 2012 after she was named first runner-up to Olivia Culpo of the United States. Her loss sparked violent reactions in the pageant community, with many arguing that she should be named the winner, especially after she aced the question and answer portion of the tilt.
Shortly after her pageant journey, she broke into modeling, and became an international fashion model while pursuing her studies.
