Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh files to legally drop father’s surname
Former A-list couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has legally requested to drop the “Pitt” from her surname amid the ongoing court battle between her parents.
As reported by TMZ on May 30 (EST), citing the legal documents they obtained from court, Shiloh filed a request to drop her father’s surname on May 27, her 18th birthday, as she becomes a legal adult based on US law.
According to multiple US news outlets, Jolie and Pitt’s other children are also omitting the actor’s last name from theirs, although, so far, Shiloh is the only one who has legally requested it.
The ex-couple’s other daughter, 15-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, is reportedly unofficially dropping the “Pitt” from her name, as she only maintained the “Jolie” in the playbill for the new Broadway musical “The Outsiders,” in which she served as PA to help her mother.
Shiloh Jolie reportedly the latest of Brad and Angelina’s kids to drop ‘Pitt’ from name.

In 2023, Jolie and Pitt’s adopted daughter, Zahara, 19, introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” upon joining a sorority at Spelman College in Atlanta. Their other kids, Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; and Knox, 15, who is Vivienne’s twin brother, are also reportedly not using “Pitt” much these days.

Pitt denied the allegations, and no charges were filed after an FBI investigation. Since then, the former married couple has spent the past eight years embroiled in a highly publicized legal battle, with reports that the actor developed strained relationships with their six children.
In April, new court documents surfaced stating that Jolie accused her ex-husband anew of “history of physical abuse” against her and their children even as they also battle over their French winery, Château Miraval.
