Derek Ramsay is happy to be back from London, where he covered the 2012 Olympics for AkTV.
What was the highlight of his coverage?
“I interviewed (American basketball player) Sue Bird,” he beamed. “I have a major crush on her. I think we had a moment for five seconds.”
The games are over. Derek has been facing another “obstacle course” of intrigues since his arrival. What can he say about his ex’s (Angelica Panganiban’s) bitter statements in her blogs/posts, which seem to allude to him?
“I would rather not comment,” he said. “I don’t know what the fuss is all about. We have both moved on.”
Next arrow for Derek please, Cupid. Let the Game of Love begin again!
Amalia’s b-day trip
If plans don’t miscarry, Tita Nena (Amalia Fuentes) will celebrate her birthday in Singapore. Her daughter Liezl is facilitating the trip.
Since Tita Nena is like a second mom to me and Liezl is like my sister, I am more than happy that their “roller coaster” relationship is now steadier than ever.
And I certainly hope it stays that way.
‘Alay Tawa’ for Dolphy
I checked on Ronnie Quizon after the 40th day of the passing of his dad (Tito Dolphy).
He sent me this message via Facebook: “The most memorable bit for me was when the priest said something like, ‘We all know what Dolphy did in his life, and if we think that he will go to heaven by judging him in our hearts… then we can be sure how he was judged by “The One” who has a bigger and more forgiving heart than any of us.’”
A big event dubbed “Alay Tawa” will be held on Aug. 31 at the Mall of Asia Arena. The Quizons, as well as talents from ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5 will be performing together for the first time.
A donation of P150 fetches a ticket to the show.
Proceeds will go to Dolphy’s foundation, which gives scholarship grants to promising Filipino students and assistance to the Red Cross and the Eye Bank, which gives free checkups for theh public.
Even in his absence, Tito Dolphy’s genuine kindness is still very much felt. Kudos to his wonderful brood for doing what their Dad taught them, not just by words but by example.
