Sandara Park is a supportive older sister to her brother, singer-songwriter and MBLAQ member Thunder, who tied the knot with Gugudan’s Mimi.
Thunder and Mimi said “I do” in a ceremony witnessed by family and close friends last Sunday, May 26. Their wedding comes almost a year after they confirmed their four-year relationship last July 2023.
One of the guests included Park, who took to Instagram on Monday, May 27, to express how she was the “happiest in the world” after her younger brother’s wedding. The post showed photos of the couple kissing while their guests clapped.
“Thunder and Mimi kiss! They got married! I’m so happy for my little brother. I’m the happiest in the world! Thank you so much to everyone who came to congratulate them. I’m very, very happy,” she wrote in Korean.
Other celebrities invited to the wedding were South Korean actor Choi Soo-jong, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon, 2NE1’s Minzy, and singer-songwriter Se7en, to name a few.
Thunder and Mimi also shared glimpses of their wedding preparations and prenup shoot on their respective accounts, in the days leading up to their special day.
Thunder, whose real name is Park Sang-hyun, debuted as the lead dancer and vocalist of MBLAQ in October 2009. He left the group in December 2014 after the expiration of his contract with J. Tune Camp.
Meanwhile, Mimi (born Jung Mimi) made her debut as the vocalist and visual of Gugudan in June 2016. The girl group disbanded four years later.
