BINI continues to make waves in the local and international music scene, as US-based lifestyle publication Teen Vogue named them one of the “12 Girl Groups to Watch in 2024.”

The P-pop octet is the only Filipina group to be included in the list, which looks at the girl groups “poised to have a killer 2024” and will “completely take over your playlists.”

In the list, the publication looked back at BINI’s 2021 debut until they “cemented their influence” in P-pop with the release of their hit tracks “Pantropiko” and “Salamin, Salamin.”

“So far, in 2024, the group has released another hit song, ‘Salamin, Salamin,’ which climbed the charts, all while ‘Pantropiko’ continued to trend as well. At the time of writing, the group’s hold is still evident as “Pantropiko” tops Billboard’s Philippines Songs chart with ‘Salamin, Salamin’ right behind,” the description reads.

Also included are K-pop girl groups BabyMonster, Kiss of Life, ILLIT, Billlie, and the upcoming girl group by survival show “I-LAND 2.”

HYBE and Geffen Records’ upcoming girl group KATSEYE, where Filipina Sophia Laforteza is one of the members, is part of the list as well.

ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy formed BINI until they made their June 2021 debut with the single “Born To Win.” The girl group consists of the members Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena.

BINI exploded in popularity in 2023 with their smash hit “Pantropiko” which continued until the release of their March 2024 EP “Talaarawan.”

The eight-member group is set to hold their three-day “BINIverse” concert at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City from June 28 to 30.
