South Korean singer Park Bo Ram’s cause of death has been confirmed by autopsy results, revealing acute alcohol poisoning.

On Thursday, May 23, South Korean news outlet Allkpop reported that the autopsy of the singer, who passed away on April 11, showed that the singer died due to alcohol poisoning.

According to the police’s statement, Park had “pre-existing health conditions such as fatty liver disease and liver lesions, which might have contributed to her demise amid the alcohol poisoning.”

The Namyang Police Department further asserted that autopsy results from the National Forensic Service “found no evidence of any other possible causes of death.”

Last month, the 30-year-old shocked the entertainment industry after reports surfaced that she was found unconscious at a friend’s house in Seoul, South Korea.

Authorities reported Park had been in a social gathering with two of her female friends, and they were drinking some alcohol before she excused herself to go to the restroom at 9:55 p.m.

After being unable to return for quite some time, Park was found by her friends “slouched over the sink, unconscious.” They performed CPR while waiting for emergency responders before the songstress was rushed to Hanyang University Guri Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:17 p.m.

Park’s death was first announced by her talent agency, XANADU Entertainment, saying at the time, “Our hearts are deeply troubled as we deliver this sudden news to her fans. A wake and funeral will be scheduled after a discussion with the singer’s family.”

The singer’s wake was held on April 17 at the Asan Medical Center before a funeral procession with family and friends, including her fellow celebrities from the industry.

Park rose to fame after joining Mnet’s “SuperStar K2” and finishing in eighth place. She made her debut with the release of her digital single “Beautiful” in 2014. She won Artist of the Year at the Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards and was nominated by other awarding bodies at the time.
