Celebrity mom Danica Sotto gave a health update after she had a “smooth and successful” gallbladder operation.

On her Instagram story, Sotto shared a picture of her lying in a hospital bed and giving a thumbs up with the caption, “2 days ago post-op. Goodbye gallbladder. Thank you, Lord, for a smooth and successful procedure. All is well.”

According to Mayo Clinic, an academic medical center, the most common type of gallbladder surgery is laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a procedure that is usually done by inserting a tiny video camera and special tools through several small incisions to see inside one’s abdomen and remove the gallbladder.

Meanwhile, in March, Sotto and her husband, basketball player Marc Pingris, were caught in controversies after cheating allegations involving the latter and actress Kim Rodriguez surfaced on the internet.

“Walang katotohanan ang mga lumalabas na balita tungkol sa amin ni Ms. Kim Rodriguez. Walang namamagitan sa aming dalawa gaya ng sinasabi ng ibang tao,” wrote Pingris at the time.

“Wag na po tayong magpakalat ng mga balita na hindi totoo. Humihingi po kami ng respeto at para hindi madamay ang mga anak namin ni Danica. Salamat po at God bless,” he added.

Despite being the daughter of veteran TV host-actor Vic Sotto and actress Dina Bonnevie, Danica did not pursue acting and has chosen to focus on building a family with her husband and their three children.

In 2022, Danica and Pingris shared that their daughter Caela survived dengue following a worrisome hospitalization.

“Goodbye Dengue!!! Thank you Jesus for healing Caela and for giving us the strength to face another battle. Thank you also to our Pedia, Doc Delfin Santos, and to the nurses and doctors who took care of her. Salamat din sa aming prayer warriors,” Danica wrote.

“We are now at home at makakahinga na tayo,” she concluded.
