Days after saying “I do,” Nash Aguas and Mika Dela Cruz looked back on their heartfelt Tagaytay wedding, where the actor-politician thanked God for allowing him to fall in love with Dela Cruz “three times.”
In a video uploaded on the actress’ Facebook page on Wednesday, May 22, the couple revisited their special day at Adriano’s Event Place and Prayer Garden in Tagaytay, where among the highlights showed the couple saying their wedding vows.
“Thank you, God, for allowing me to fall in love with such an amazing woman — not once, not twice, but three times through this lifetime,” Aguas said, adding he frequently “wanted to be with” Dela Cruz the moment they first met in May 2007.
“Whether it be carrying her bag, going on out-of-the-country tapings, or putting a band-aid on your wounds smaller than an ant just so we can have a moment together,” he recalled. “I didn’t know it back then but looking back, it was more than just a crush.”
Aguas shared that the “second time” was when they were given a chance to be in a relationship in 2018. They were a “perfect match” at the time but they “loved each other too much,” almost to the point of not putting God at the center of their relationship.
“Simple conversations turned into misunderstandings, which turned into problems. With all my might, I tried to make you happy but then I failed,” he said. Aguas said he prayed for them to break up if they were not meant to be together. Three days later, Dela Cruz ended their relationship.
The couple eventually found their way back to each other, which Aguas considered as his “third time” and with a “clear message” from God that they’re indeed meant to be.
“I will promise you joy even through suffering. I will promise you peace in all circumstances and I promise to always point you back to Him whenever it seems hard. And I promise to love you even if you don’t anymore because that’s how He loves me. I love you,” he added.
For her part, Dela Cruz said she knew she would end up marrying Aguas someday, while thanking God for “allowing [their] paths to cross in May 2007.”
“Now we’re here, May 2024. After 17 years, we’re finally one,” she said. “We’re not yet Mr. and Mrs. but you were already leading me. I’m sure you will be the best leader to our future family, future kids.”
The actress then listed Aguas’ many phases in his life, recalling how he would always carry her bag during “Goin’ Bulilit’s” out-of-the-country tapings, to eventually getting married.
“Ikaw ang unang crush ko at ang huling mahal ko (You are my first crush and my last love). I love you, love, so, so, so much. This is the start of our life together, our forever and I’m so blessed to be your Mrs. Victoriano,” she said, addressing Aguas using his real surname.
Aguas and Dela Cruz tied the knot at an intimate ceremony last May 18, witnessed by their loved ones and close friends.
