Apl.de.Ap was confirmed as one of the special guests on the show’s first day, along with veteran composer Louie Ocampo, music producer Terry Zhong, “The Voice Generation” alums Vocalmyx and FORTEnors, and Gelou of P-pop girl group YARA. Meanwhile, Gloc-9 took Apl.de.Ap’s place on the show’s second day.
Also announced at the finale show was a documentary film showing behind-the-scenes moments of the group throughout their “Pagtatag” era — which kicked off with the release of their smash hit “Gento” in May of last year.
Among the moments highlighted in the teaser was the group recalling the highs and lows of their career, as well as the solo interviews of the members reflecting on their careers. The docu-film will hit theaters in August 2024.
“Parang feeling ko, hindi ko na nae-enjoy mag-perform (I feel like I don’t enjoy performing anymore),” Justin said in the teaser.
Meanwhile, the group’s leader Pablo said their “passion” is a “step-by-step” process.
“Mahirap na mahirap ‘yung journey toward big things. ‘Yung puso, passion, and everything, parang step by step talaga siya,” he said. (The journey toward big things is very hard. The heart, passion, and everything, it’s a step-by-step process.)
More details about the docu film’s storyline are yet to be revealed, as of press time.
Throughout the two-day show’s run, SB19 performed their songs “Gento,” “Crimzone,” “Mana,” and “Bazinga,” among many others.
The members also had their solo performances, namely, Ken with “Foes” (Day 1) and “Kanako” (Day 2); Pablo with “edsa,” Justin doing “surreal” with YARA’s Gelou, Josh with “Yoko Na” and “Wild Tonight,” and Stell singing the unreleased track “Anino” which was composed by Pablo back then.
