It’s confirmed: Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards — collectively known as “KathDen” — are once again joining forces on the big screen for the sequel to the blockbuster film “Hello, Love, Goodbye”.
The sequel to the hit 2019 film was announced in an exclusive report of entertainment platform Deadline on Sunday, May 19, and will be titled “Hello, Love, Again.”
The second installment of “Hello, Love, Goodbye” will reportedly tell the story of Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan (Richards) who meet again in Canada after their budding romance was cut short due to “time, distance, and a global shutdown.” Despite this, both realize a lot has changed in them as individuals.
“Hello, Love, Again” is a collaboration between ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema and GMA’s GMA Pictures. The film will be directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana and is set for a November release.
“Star Cinema has always been passionate about capturing the stories of our overseas Filipino workers on the big screen, to pay tribute to their sacrifices, grit, and resilience to be able to provide for their families,” Star Cinema head Kriz Gazmen was quoted as saying.
“‘Hello, Love, Again’ is born out of that same passion, and this time, focusing on the lives of the Filipinos in Canada,” Gazmen added.
The 2019 film gave birth to the chemistry of Bernardo and Richards — as well as their close friendship — and a massive following after its release.
It was the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time until it was surpassed by the 2023 film “Rewind” starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.
