Nearly two months after his dating scandal with Han So-hee and Lee Hye-ri, Ryu Jun-yeol has finally broken his silence over the alleged “transit love” that involved the three of them, asserting that at the time “it was best for him to stay silent.”
During the recent press conference of his new series “The 8 Show” in Korea, the Korean actor spoke about the dating drama and said it was best for him to endure the public scrutiny at the time.
“Rather than try to correct the misinformation about my personal life that was being uploaded to social media, I felt that it was best to stay silent and endure the criticism,” he said as translated.
The “Reply 1988” actor underscored that he intended to talk about the issue further in a more appropriate setting in the future.
“It was an opportunity for me to self-reflect and the most trying time since my debut. As it is a personal issue, I think there will be a time when I can give an interview about it in a personal setting,” he remarked.
Ryu, Han, and Lee’s dating controversy shocked the entertainment industry after the two women engaged in an Instagram feud and began taking jabs at each other, leading them to pen personal statements later on to clarify their stance.
In the middle of the circus, Ryu remained silent, putting the two actresses on a pedestal to handle the controversy, causing him to receive further hate from the netizens.
Ryu and Lee dated for eight years before confirming their separation in November 2023. In the same year, Ryu was spotted with Han, sparking dating rumors.
Following the accusations of ‘transit love’, Han clarified that she and Ryu met after he broke up with Lee, indicating that it was a normal process to move on.
After generating much noise, Han and Ryu confirmed their breakup on March 30 of this year, leaving off a whirlwind romance.
