“Pepito Manaloto” actress Mosang recalled how Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo became her “earth angel” for helping her when she needed to pay hospital bills, rebuild her business, and get up on her feet during the difficult times in her life.

Sitting down with Ogie Diaz, Mosang shared that after working in the 1998 TV series “Esperanza,” she and Santos became really close, and the latter came into her aid when her mother got hospitalized 20 years ago.

“Lowest time ko na ‘yon talaga. Siya lang ‘yung artista. Hindi ko makakalimutan ‘yon. Nasa hospital ‘yung nanay ko wala akong pambayad ng bill,” she recalled, adding that Santos wrote her a check amounting to P30,000 to pay the hospital fees.

The same thing happened when, in another occasion, Mosang was the one got hospitalized.

“Naospital ako. Siya lang ‘yung nag-iisang kaibigan. Nakita niya namamaga na ‘yung legs ko, whatever. Dinala niya ako sa St. Lukes. I’ve never been to St. Luke’s; wala akong pambayad kamo. Sabi niya, ‘Dito ka. Magpapagamot ka.’” shared Mosang in tears.

On the second time that she got hospitalized, Mosang said that Santos gave her something just to tide her over when she had to skip work as she had to recuperate from home.

“Sumunod naman nagpa-opera ako ng thyroid ko. Bayad na lahat. Pinag-ipunan ko. Pero wala akong pang 2 months, magpapahinga ako. Nagpagrocery siya for 2 months plus cash. Ganon siya magmahal, until this time,” she shared, adding that during the pandemic Santos then again helped her to open up a new business.

Despite living far from each other now, Mosang asserted that she and Santos continue to keep in touch and remarked that she will always be there for her friend.

“Always. Kapag tinawag niya ako, kapag kailangan niya ng kausap. I will always be there. Lagi ko naman sinasabi sa kaniya ‘yon. Ganon rin naman siya. We still get in touch, until this time. Hindi pwedeng hindi. Sa mga showbiz friends siya ‘yung totoo,” she declared.

Aside from Santos, Mosang also expressed appreciation to her “Pepito Manaloto” costar Michael V, who helped her stand on her feet especially during the pandemic.
