Single mom Kylie Padilla admits asking self: Am I a good mother?

Kylie Padilla regards being a single mother as the “hardest thing” she had to do in her life, admitting she asks herself at times if she does enough for her sons Alas and Axl.
Padilla marked the celebration of Mother’s Day by opening up about this through her Instagram page on Sunday, May 12.
“Being a single mother is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life,” she said, showing a video of her sons running at a garden.
“At times I often wonder if I do enough, am I disciplining them the right way? Am I being too harsh or am I teaching a life lesson? If I am capable along with my own depression and anxiety to do this job? Or if I am a good mother? Or how do I even forgive myself when I make mistakes. I wonder all the time,” she continued.
She further noted that while parenting her kids, she has been also parenting herself. For this reason, Padilla wanted to acknowledge and celebrate herself for everything she does.
Article continues after this advertisement“Usually on mother’s day I direct this energy to celebrate other moms in my life. This year I want to celebrate myself,” she stated. “I’m proud of me. I pat myself on the back. This has made me a better person.”
Article continues after this advertisementThe actress then urged fellow mothers to celebrate themselves for being the amazing person they are despite their flaws.
“It’s ok to be human. If you don’t feel celebrated, I CELEBRATE YOU. It’s ok to admit to your flaws but always strive to be better,” she addressed them.
“Repair when you can and always whatever happens, steal a hug a kiss and listen to that story they have told hundreds of times over, let them know you see them. They are only ever this little for so long,” she wrote. “The sacrifice is worth every laugh and every I love uttered from their lips.”

Padilla shares her son with actor Aljur Abrenica. The actors got married in 2018, then confirmed their separation in 2021.
Abrenica, who confessed in a 2023 interview that he had cheated on Padilla, is currently in a relationship with actress AJ Raval. Padilla, meanwhile, has been rumored to be dating tattoo artist Jinno John Simon.
