On Mother’s Day, KC Concepcion paid a loving tribute to her mother, Sharon Cuneta, days after the Megastar said that the two of them are no longer close to each other and are in fact currently “estranged.”
On Instagram, Concepcion posted a picture of the two of them while she was still a toddler, but she made no reference to her mom’s revelation about their relation status.
“To my beautiful mama, it’s your day. I pray for us to enjoy life’s pleasures and adventures together soon. You’re the first person I ever met, and ever loved, it’s because of you that I’m here today. Trust in the way you raised me – I will always strive to make you proud and feel that having me was worth it,” she captioned her post.
“I love you. I wish I could give you the world so you wouldn’t have to worry about anything for another second. Happy Mother’s Day mama!” she added.

Concepcion also posted a Mother’s Day video on her vlog where she enumerated the Top 10 gifts that she received from Cuneta over the years, and which she cherished the most.
In her vlog, Concepcion said that Cuneta is a mother who “speaks her love language” of gift-giving, sharing that the latter’s gifts are a way to feel her presence.
“Gifts are my love language… and my mom speaks my love language very well. Naging special ang memorable gifts na binigay sa’kin ng Mom ko because it makes me feel that she’s always with me whenever I see them, wear them, or use them,” she said in the video.

Among these gifts are a set of jewelries, luxury bag and wallet, a vintage trunk, a lifestyle books, a compilation of letters that she wrote for her mom when she was young, and Cuneta’s wedding ring from her marriage to the actress-entrepreneur’s father, Gabby Concepcion.
“Sa totoo lang, namimiss ko din ang kakikayan ng mama ko,” she said.
Concepcion also recalled the times when she would have “the best birthday parties” when she was little despite Cuneta’s busy schedule as an artist and a single mom, to boot;
“Sobrang busy nya and yet she would find the time to go to PTA. Sya lang yung naka jeans na naka-Ralph Lauren na button-down polo tapos naka emerald diamond earrings at watch. Tapos naka loafers tas bob cut (hair). Parang sya lang yung young cool mom na dumadating don kase she had me very young. She was pregnant at 18 and had me at 19 years old. So I can imagine how unprepared she was in so many ways. And now that I am in my 30s, it’s really something that I think about and I realized that it must not have been that easy for her. She must have had a pretty challenging time also,” she said.
At one point, Concepcion said to simply “love each other” because “life is too short” while expressing her love for Cuneta.
Cuneta made headlines after revealing that she and her daughter are “estranged,” while pointing out that she wants to keep their familial matters just between them.
