Actress-host Dianne Medina clapped back at her bashers who accused her of “spoiling” her son when she put up inflatable pools inside their house, saying she makes her own rules.

On Wednesday, May 8, Medina shared a photo of herself and her son sitting on a big inflatable playhouse with the caption, “My House, My Child, My Rules! Kahit maglagay pa ako ng inflatables sa loob, okay lang! (laughing emojis).”

This came after netizens left harsh comments on her first post, where she set up an inflatable pool for her son to swim in right smack in the middle of their posh living room. She said this decision came about because of the extreme heat outside of their house.

“Joaquin wants to swim outside, but it’s so hot, and he told me he wanted to swim inside. So ayan nag setup kami ni Daddy Rj ng Mini Pool niya,” she wrote on her Instagram caption on May 6.

Medina remarked that at first she hesitated to set up the mini-pool inside the house because she was worrying about the furnitures and carpeting inside their home that may be ruined, but later on she realized that she’s willing to do anything to make her child have a good time.

“At first, I was a bit hesitant about madudumihan and mababasa ang carpet and all, but naisip ko minsan lang bata si Joaquin gusto ko ma-enjoy niya, and ang sala pwede naman patuyuin at linisin ang mga gamit!” she expressed.

“Same as before, nagdrawing siya ng car sa sofa using pentelpen, hindi na ko nagalit kasi mapapalitan naman ‘yun! Kung saan ka masaya, anak! Mahal na mahal kita,” added the actress-host.

Medina’s motherly decision, however, was unpopular among some her followers, who claimed that her son could grow up spoiled because of her failure to set boundaries with her son. They said that her son might not learn “what things he could play with and those that he could not.”

“Ok lang siguro ‘yong pool tulad ng sinabi mo mapapatuyo. Pero ‘yong pagsusulat sa mga pader or sofa, dapat ‘wag niyo siyang hinahayaan baka akala niya ok lang ‘yon lalo na ‘pag ginawa sa ibang bahay. Dapat alam ng bata ang mga hindi ginagalaw o pinaglalaruan sa bahay,” one IG user commented.

“Di ‘yan pwede, malaki na siya, he should know and understand where to mess up sa tamang lugar… ‘Pag nasanay na jan siya, it’s a no no na. Pero I can’t talaga,” said another one.

Following the netizens’ reactions, Medina posted another Instagram video of her husband, Rodjun Cruz, and their son playing in their pool outside, in which her caption stated that “people were judging based on one video alone.”

“Nung wala nang araw at hindi na masyado mainit. Nag swimming na si Joaquin with Daddy outside!” she said. “As for the carpet, relax! Hahah, due na rin ‘yan for cleaning, so it’s okay. Hindi masamang pagbigyan ng isang beses ang mga anak natin basta, we know our limits and boundaries! Marami kasi dyan, they judge based on one posted video!”
