Jessy Mendiola said to “stop spreading hate and negativity” after a basher claimed that she was using a fake bag from a luxury brand.

On Instagram, the actress shared an unboxing video of her newest vintage but pre-loved high-end bag. However, her enthusiasm turned sour when a netizen commented, “Looks fake to me. Bought from HK?”

Mendiola explained that the bag was validated by a sales associate, writing, “It was authenticated by a sales associate who checked the item’s serial code in Chanel’s system. No need to hate and spread negativity.”

The owner of the store in Japan where the luxury bag came from pitched in to defend the “Maria Marcedes” star.

“Dear, I’m from Japan. Every shop here has their own in-house professional authenticators. We don’t sell fake items here, ‘cos bawal (not allowed). They would close down your shop if caught,” she said, responding to the netizen.

Over the years, the 31-year-old actress has been treating fans to a glimpse of her closet by sharing some images of her bags and clothes.

In 2017, Mendiola fulfilled her dream to take up a course at the Institute of Creative Entrepreneurship in Fashion and Design.

“Matagal ko na pong pangarap makagawa ng mga damit. Pero wala lang po akong lakas ng loob gawin at matuto,” she said.

(I have long dreamed of making clothes, but I just don’t have the courage to do it and learn.)

“Ngayon lang po ako nagkaroon ng courage to try something new, sakto napadaan ako sa school one day, kaya feeling ko po meant to be,” she continued.

(It was only now that I had the courage to try something new; I just passed by at school one day, so I feel like it was meant to be.)

Meanwhile, aside from Mendiola, actress Aubrey Miles also clapped back to a netizen who cringed at her branded outfit.

“May nag cringe na nga haha full brand daw fendi ako. Sagot ko naman, there’s more where it came from. Haha, minsan lang ako mag-matching ng branded may nainis agad,” said Miles.

(There’s someone who found my post cringeworthy already because I’m wearing full-brand Fendi. I answered, There’s more where it came from. Haha, I only do matching of brands once, and someone immediately gets annoyed.)
