Celebrity twins Atasha and Andres Muhlach greeted their mom, actress-beauty queen Charlene Gonzales, who celebrated her 50th birthday on Wednesday, May 1.

Separately on Instagram, the twins posted pictures of them as kids posing with their mother. They simply wrote in their respective captions, “Happy birthday, mom. I, we love you.”

Atasha, who’s currently a mainstay host in “Eat Bulaga,” said in her previous interviews that their parents taught them to be independent and “live a simple life.”

Atasha said they had access to mobile phones only when they reached 17, and that her daily school allowance when she was studying in the Philippines was only P100.

“My parents taught me that simple is always better; you don’t need something extravagant. Everything has its purpose; you don’t need to spend so much on this and that,” she said.

“Growing up, our parents never spoiled us. Especially about being independent, we would always have to practice budgeting,” she added.

Despite studying abroad for a time and leaving their parents, who admitted they felt their children’s absence, Atasha said that they are a close-knit family.
