A visibly concerned BINI had to cut their appearance short at a Bangus Festival show in Dagupan City last Tuesday, April 30, after noticing some fans fainting and getting dizzy due to the scorching heat.

BINI was among the performers at a brand concert to celebrate Dagupan’s annual Bangus festival when they noticed fans losing consciousness due to the scorching heat and overcrowding.

Videos from X (formerly Twitter) showed the members asking fans to move backward and not climb on elevated spots, with Colet repeatedly reminding them to be mindful of their “safety.” Other videos also showed the members handing out water bottles to the audience.

“Nagwo-worry kami sa safety niyo. Hindi tayo magproproceed sa next song if hindi tayo makipag-cooperate,” said Colet. (We’re worried about your safety. We’ll not proceed to the next song if you won’t cooperate with us.)

At one point, Stacey reminded fans in Ilocano to not push each other, while reminding them about their safety. Meanwhile, she, Jhoanna, and Sheena were visibly crying at some point during the show.

The group eventually ended their set having performed just three songs, namely, “Lagi,” “Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi,” and “Pantropiko.”

An exclusive report from ABS-CBN News, as confirmed by Dagupan City’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, said some attendees fainted at the event but the exact number has yet to be determined. No serious injuries were recorded.

Dagupan City is one of the most severely affected cities by the sweltering heat as it recorded 49°C in heat index last April 30, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

‘Extra ingat’

The members of BINI also took to their respective X accounts to “stay hydrated” and take care of themselves amid the scorching heat.

Meanwhile, Colet said “sorry” since they cut their performance short as they didn’t want to “cause harm,” while Aiah admitted that seeing people being “affected by the heat and exhaustion” is “heartbreaking.”

“Not everything will always be perfect and smooth sailing… I pray for your recovery and the wellness of everybody,” Aiah added in her post. “I hope for the upcoming shows and events, we all prioritize safety, wag mag tulakan, and since painit ng painit din ngayon dito sa Pinas, always bring water and stay hydrated!”

Jhoanna, Maloi, Gwen, and Sheena assured they will return to Dagupan, while reminding fans to prioritize their safety at all costs.
