Former EB Babes member Lian Paz said that she can’t relate to Atasha Muhlach having a P100 daily school allowance because, back in the day, her P100 allowance already included her transportation and food, therefore she barely had enough for anything else.

Paz shared her thoughts in a now-deleted Instagram post, detailing her experience having to live off her P100 allowance during her college days.

“Na-amaze ako to know about Atasha Muhlach’s 100 peso daily allowance, kasi back then in college, ‘yan din ako,” she wrote in the caption. (I was amazed to know about Atasha Muhlach’s 100 peso daily allowance, because back then in college, I was the same.)

“Pero sa akin, kasama na ang pamasahe at pangkain. O ‘diba! Si Atasha baka, de-sundo naman or may school service, pure allowance lang ang 100 pesos,” she continued. (But for me, the fare and food are included. See! Meanwhile, Atasha may have school service, so her P100 pesos is her pure allowance.)

The “Lipgloss” actress, however, claimed that having a small allowance taught her to not rely on a comfortable life.

“But thanks to that, ma, dad. If it weren’t for that, I’d be used to comfort, and I wouldn’t have the courage to try to work while studying. I mean, maaga ako natuto sa buhay (I was able to learn about life at a young age),” she concluded.

However, Paz deleted her post after some netizens “misinterpreted” what she was trying to say.

“Dinilete ko ang post ko. Iniba kasi ang perspective nu’ng pinost ko. Imbes na I am thanking my parents dahil sa pagturo nila ng values sa money,” she told Abante.

(I deleted my post because others took it differently when I was only thanking my parents for teaching me the value of money.)

Muhlach’s revelation about her P100 daily stipend intrigued netizens, as she’s the daughter of celebrity couple Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales, while she is taking up classes at a posh institution abroad.

Aga shared in an interview in March that his twins knew how to handle their finances because they experienced being independent when they studied abroad.

“Akala ng iba, iniisip nila (everyone is assuming) they’re rich kids, spoiled kids. No, no, no,” Aga said, adding that when his children got short on money, they were not allowed to call their parents for extra.
