Miss Universe Philippines 2024 candidate Mary Rose Guiral from Naic, Cavite drew concern from organizers and her fellow delegates after she fainted while the national costume competition was being held last April 28 in Sultan Kudarat.

Guiral, whose costume was inspired by the sea turtle, was on the brink of losing consciousness when fellow candidates beside her came to her rescue. She was immediately surrounded by her pageant sisters, who were also in their respective national costumes, among them Quezon’s Ahtisa Manalo.

The commotion was caught on video by Art Louis via Pageanthology 101, which they posted on Facebook Monday, April 29.

In the video, Guiral appeared to be trying to keep herself standing upright, as she was being escorted by security and pageant staff, while fellow candidates fanned her face.

The beauty queen nonetheless looked radiant in her Karl Balao costume inspired by sea turtles, in hopes of promoting conservation of the marine animal.

“This costume is designed to portray my bravery to make our community known but also it represents how I am willing and determined to fight for the sector whose Pawikan conservative is under, the agriculture,” she wrote in one of her posts.
