Lana Del Rey wrapped up her Coachella 2024 week 2 performance 13 minutes over schedule, which reportedly cost the music and arts festival a $28,000 (over P1.6 million) fine.

The representative of Indio, California, where the event was held, confirmed this to news outlet TMZ as per a report on Monday, April 22.

Apparently, the city officials had a curfew agreement with the creators of the festival that fines would be charged should the event run over the schedule.

The “Summertime Sadness” singer performed last Friday, April 19, alongside Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste and surprise guest artist Camila Cabello. Del Ray’s Coachella week 1 performance, on the other hand, included a surprise number with Billie Eilish.

Del Rey as well as the festival organizers have yet to comment on the matter as of this writing.

Meanwhile, Coachella organizers were also reportedly fined $117,000 during its 2023 staging for going past its curfew. As per TMZ, the event’s week 1 dates went over by 25 minutes on the first night, 22 minutes on the second and 25 minutes on the third night.

Other performers who headlined this year’s festival were Doja Cat, LE SSERAFIM, Sabrina Carpenter, No Doubt, and Tyler, the Creator.
