David Licauco is looking forward to his upcoming medical procedure for his sleep apnea sometime this month, saying it’s a way for him to move forward to his “best life.”
In a 24 Oras interview aired Tuesday, April 23, Licauco said his surgery will take place later this month, saying “he can’t wait” for his sleep apnea to be cured for good.
“I just can’t wait for that day that I’ll be okay because it’s affecting my daily life, my mental health, so I want to do it,” he said. “I just want that to be over to live my best life.”
The actor’s onscreen partner Barbie Forteza also said in the report that she hoped Licauco’s surgery would lead toward the “improvement” of his condition.
“Siyempre, I’m hoping na magiging maganda ‘yung resulta, hindi ba? And it will be for his improvement, para hindi na rin siya gaanong ma-challenge when it comes to working late or having to wake up early,” he said.
(Of course, I’m hoping the results will be okay, right? And it will be for his improvement so he won’t be too challenged when it comes to working late or having to wake up early.)
Sleep apnea is a condition in which one’s breathing stops and restarts many times when asleep. If left untreated, it causes loud snoring, heart problems, and high blood pressure.
Licauco has opened up about his sleep apnea on multiple occasions, sharing in a July 2023 vlog with Bea Alonzo that his condition causes him to be usually late for taping. He added that his breathing would “stop for 30 seconds straight, 24 times an hour,” and that it would give him stress.
