After five years, Zendaya won’t just grace but also co-chair Met Gala 2024

After not gracing the red carpet for five years, Zendaya is set to make the 2024 Met Gala very special, as she shared that she’s preparing for the annual A-list event in New York.
In an interview with E! News, the “Euphoria” star teased that they were working on “some ideas” on her look as she will serve as one of the co-chairs of this year’s star-studded gala.
“We have some ideas,” she said with a smile. “It felt like the right time to try to go back to the Met,” adding that her friends will also attend.

In 2019, Zendaya last came to the Met, channeling her inner Cinderella and looking as enchanting as ever. According to the reports, the Hollywood star is set to work with the same stylist, Law Roach, for this year’s gala.
“Law and I, obviously, have been working together for many years, and we’ve been doing themed dressing since ‘Greatest Showman’,” she said at the time.
The “Dune” actress made her Met Gala debut when she was 18, wearing a red-and-black dip hem, shining the same in the sun design embellishment on her gown.
Since then, Zendaya has been appearing on the Met with a statement piece that fans online have always seemed to love.
In 2022, the 27-year-old superstar shared that she would be “prioritizing” making movies at the time, which is why she chose to skip the gala consecutively.
“I hate to disappoint my fans here, but I will be working. Your girl’s got to work and make some movies. I wish everyone the best. I’ll be back eventually,” she said.
Since its inception 19 years ago, the Met Gala has always been held on the first Monday of May, except in 2020, when the event was cancelled due to the pandemic, and when it came back in 2021, the gala was held in September due to the aftermath of the global lockdown.
Zendaya will co-host this year alongside Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Anna Wintour, whose publication, Vogue magazine, organizes the event.
The 2024 Met Gala is happening on May 6, Monday, with the theme “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
