Jayda Avanzado confirmed that she and Darren Espanto had “romantic feelings” for each other in the past after the latter’s interview revealing their “past relationship” went viral.
Avanzado let the cat out of the bag during her interview with Cristy Fermin for the latter’s vlog recently, wherein the young actress-singer shared that this happened when they were still younger.
“Nung interview actually nagulat ako, may nagsend na lang po sakin na sinabi niya (Espanto) po ‘yon. Pero totoo naman po ‘yung sinabi niya na way back then nung mga bata pa kami. Meron po talaga, kumbaga parang may feelings din po na nabuo samin pong dalawa. Nangyari po talaga ‘yon,” she shared.
Jayda admit that Darren and her have something romantic in the past when there young,thank you @jaydaavanzado for the honest answer!

(During the interview, I was actually surprised. Someone just texted me that he said that. But it’s true what he said way back then when we were kids. There really is, it seems like there are also feelings that the two of us developed. That really happened.)
Without disclosing any more details about their past involvement, Avanzado affirmed that Espanto “was once special” to her, and they remain good friends to this day.
“Siguro po desisyon niya in the moment. I would say as well, parang gaya po ng sinabi ni Darren. Hindi ko na lang rin po parang ie-elaborate. Ibibigay lahat ng mga detalye pero it is true. Naging close po talaga kasi talaga kami ni Darren dati. He was once special to me. To this day, okay naman po kami. Lalo na po kapag nagkikita kami.” she said.
(Maybe it’s his decision at the moment. I would say as well, like what Darren said. I’m not about to elaborate or give all the details but it is true. We became really close in the past, Darren and I. He was once special to me. To this day, we are okay. Especially when we meet.)
In Espanto’s previous interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” he was asked if something romantic happened between him and Avanzado.
“There definitely was. But ‘yun lang po ang sasabihin ko… It’s something that I guess we’d like to keep private. Things from the past… Jayda and I we’ve been friends since we were younger. Jayda and I are still friends,” he said.
In the same interview, Espanto also revealed that he had a “puppy love” situation with Kyline Alcantara that lasted for a year.
Espanto was also recently linked to Cassy Legaspi.
