Korean actor Ma Dong Seok, also known as Don Lee, and model-actress Ye Jung Hwa are set to hold an official wedding ceremony in May, three years after they first signed their marriage papers.
On April 8, a representative from the couple’s agency, Big Punch Entertainment, shared with Korean outlet Chosun.com that the two would wed in Seoul.
“The couple will have their wedding at a location in Seoul in May. The ceremony will be held privately, and it’s difficult to disclose the date,” said the representative. A few Korean outlets are citing sources that the wedding date is on May 26th.
The couple first announced their relationship in 2016. After five years of public dating, the two were reported to have registered their marriage during the pandemic. However, due to COVID restrictions at the time, they did not hold a ceremony.
Dong Seok first hinted at their marriage in 2022 after addressing his partner in his acceptance speech at the 12th Beautiful Artist Awards, where he won the Movie Artist Award. He expressed at the time, “I thank my loving wife, Ye Jung-hwa,” and various Korean outlets reported that the two were legally married then.
Given how private the couple is, they have kept their engagement and marriage under wraps. The same year, their agency addressed the rumors and the actor’s statement, saying at the time, “Ma Dong Seok and Ye Jung Hwa registered their marriage last year. Due to their busy schedules, they plan to hold a wedding at a later time.”
Dong Seok is known for his roles in the films “Train to Busan,” “The Outlaws,” “The Roundup,” and “The Bros,” among others. In 2019, he marked his Hollywood debut with Marvel’s “Eternals” as he played Gilgamesh, starring alongside Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Barry Keoghan, Kit Harington, and Salma Hayek, among others.
Meanwhile, his wife Jung Hwa is known as a Korean health trainer and a sideline actress.
