“It’s Showtime” host and Rocksteady member Teddy Corpuz appealed to the public to stop pitting noontime shows against each other, and instead be reminded of their goal to make audiences happy.

Days after the ABS-CBN-produced “It’s Showtime” took over GMA’s noontime slot, Corpuz took to his X (formerly Twitter) page on Sunday, April 7, to call out some netizens for instigating a clash between his show and its rival “Eat Bulaga.”

“‘Yung pinag-aaway nyo kami, pero bakit di nalang tangkilikin parehas? Yes may competition… minsan talo, minsan panalo. Parehong gumagawa at nag nanais mapasaya kayo,” he said mentioning the TVJ-led show’s name.

(Why are you making us fight when you can support both of them instead? Yes, there is competition. Sometimes, we win. Sometimes, we lose. But we’re both creating something good and hoping to make audiences happy.)

The singer-host then suggested that netizens focus on the noontime show they would rather support than tear the other party down.

“Kung di ka masaya sa isa, eh di dun ka sa kabila at wag ka na lang manira. Focus ka sa tv mo at wag sa tv ng kalaban mo,” he said.

(If you’re not happy with one, then just change the channel to watch a different show. Don’t put others down. Focus on your TV and not the TV of your opponent.)

Corpuz is one of the mainstay hosts of “It’s Showtime” aside from Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Karylle, Vhong Navarro, Kim Chiu, Ogie Alcasid, Jugs Jugueta, Ryan Bang, and Darren Espanto.

The Kapamilya noontime show premiered its first episode under GMA’s umbrella on April 6 which featured guest appearances from Michelle Dee, Melanie Marquez, Sanya Lopez, and Gabbi Garcia.
