Exciting Cager (EC) has as much talent as attitude. This was what influential Basketball Aficionado (BA) realized when BA met EC recently. “He is arrogant,” BA told Rushes after crossing paths with EC. “Na-turn off ako! Sa dami ba naman ng players na friends ko, I can tell who’s genuinely humble at kung sino’ng feeling sikat masyado.”
After BA told EC that he reminded her of K-drama heartthrob Lee Min-ho, she asked him if she could take a selfie with EC. To BA’s embarrassment and dismay, EC walked away instead!
“It’s impossible for him not to know who Min-ho is,” BA quipped. “EC didn’t even bother to thank me for the compliment. Perhaps he wanted me to say it the other way around—that Min-ho looks like him.”
To give EC the benefit of the doubt, BA pushed her luck and asked EC for a selfie again. BA recalled, “EC relented, but with a smirk. Grabe s’ya!” Ouch.
BA continued, “The incident reminded me of how different Robert Jaworski was. At the height of his career in the ‘80s, Jawo patiently posed for pictures and signed autographs for his fans, even when he was very tired after a game. He accommodated every fan’s request.”
Well, dear BA, that was then and this is now.
