The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday announced the schedule of the 50th edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in December this year.
In a press conference, MMDA acting Chair Romando Artes, concurrent head of the MMFF executive committee, said Manila will host the event.
Artes said that this year, the selection committee will select eight official entries under four script entries and four official finished entries.
The MMFF festival calendar is as follows: deadline for the submission of the letter of intent, May 15; submission of scripts and other required documents, June 14; submission of finished film based on script submission, Sept. 30; Parade of Stars, Dec. 15; showing of official film entries, Dec. 25 to Jan. 7, 2025; and awards nights, Dec. 27.
Artes said the MMFF will again conduct the MMFF Student Short Film Caravan to give chance to students to showcase their talents. —JEROME ANING
