Olivia Jordan addressed the recent “drama in the pageant community” involving her and fellow Miss Universe 2015 runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez, with the former saying she had left pageantry years ago so that such matters are “almost laughable” to her now.
The “drama” stemmed from the remark of Gutierrez—the Miss Universe 2015 first runner-up—at the reality show “La Casa de los Famosos,” in which she looked back at the beauty competition and described second runner-up Jordan as a “bruja,” or witch.
After the statement made rounds on social media, Jordan seemed to have alluded to the matter through her Instagram page on Tuesday, April 2.
“A lot of unexpected engagement on my page this weekend. Just want to say, thank you so much for stopping by,” Jordan said.
“I want to share a little love and kindness meditation that has changed my life. Comment ‘witch’ below and expect a link to a meditation straight to your inbox,” she continued. “Until then—’May you be held in love and kindness.'”
The former beauty queen and now a mom further spoke about it via her Instagram Stories, assuring fans who have been “worried about [her] wellbeing” that she’s “alive and fine.”
“For those of you who don’t know, there’s been some drama in the pageant community that I have been looped into. Y’all, I left the pageants eight years ago,” she stated.
“This is so far removed from my normal life that it is almost laughable, but I truly appreciate the support of everyone spreading kindness,” she added. “I appreciate the support of the people that have always known and understood my heart—that I have never intentionally come from a bad place.”
Jordan noted that she “competed with integrity” during her pageant days, opting not to say anything further which people may “pull apart.” She also warned netizens not to involve her family in this brouhaha.
“The majority of the people that have come through have been so positive, so thank you for counterbalancing the negative that has come through,” she said.
It can be recalled that the 2015 pageant had an announcement mishap after show host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced Gutierrez as the winner, instead of Filipino representative Pia Wurtzbach. Jordan was with the two beauty queens at the time as she was part of the top three finalists.
Meanwhile, Wurtzbach, who is also a known friend of Jordan, earlier asked for support for Gutierrez in the reality show.
