American singer Lizzo clarified that she is not quitting the music industry after her last Instagram post went viral, as the public took it as a hint of her exit from Hollywood given the series of abuse allegations she got recently.

On Instagram, Lizzo posted a video explaining her previous post in which she said, “I quit.”

“I wanted to make this video because I just need to clarify when I say, ‘I quit,’ I mean I quit giving any negative energy attention,” she said. “What I’m not gonna quit is the joy of my life, which is making music, which is connecting to people, because I know I’m not alone.”

The “About Damn Time” singer explained that she intends to serve as an inspiration to the people who are also battling with negative comments by continuing to “be herself.”

“In no way, shape, or form am I the only person experiencing that negative voice that seems to be louder than the positive. If I can just give one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves and say they quit letting negative people win, negative comments win, then I’ve done even more than I could’ve hoped for. With that being said, I’m gonna keep moving forward, I’m gonna keep being me.” she said.

In her Instagram post on March 29, the “Good as Hell” singer remarked that she was tired of being “constantly up against the lies told about her for clout and views,” then ended her emotional statement with an “I quit.”

“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet,” she wrote. “All I want is to make music, make people happy, and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”

Lizzo is currently facing legal troubles after three of her former backup dancers filed a lawsuit against her for alleged sexual harassment, weight-shaming, racial discrimination, and a toxic work environment.
