TAGBILARAN CITY — Singer-comedienne Leah Scarnet “Lailette” Geulen-Boiser has died of a lingering illness on Monday, April 1, her sister confirmed on Facebook.
“The remains of my sister, Leah Scarnet J. Geulen-Boiser, is laid at Funeraria Gomez for tonight. Her wake will resume on Tuesday and Wednesday at our residence. She will be laid to rest on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the UCCP Cemetery in Dampas District,” Lovette Laolao wrote.
Boiser, known as “Scarlet” or “Lailette” in show biz, is survived by her husband, Jade; her mother Lucila Jo-Geulen, and sister Lovette.

The late director Maryo Delos Reyes described Boiser as “one of the few actresses who understood well the concept of ensemble acting.”
Because of her talent in acting and singing, Boiser started as a member of Star Circle Batch 9 of ABS-CBN, but she bowed from the limelight in recent years before going back to her hometown in Bohol.
Because of her prowess in comedy, ABS-CBN cast her on “Oki Doki Doc,” a sitcom topbilled by Aga Muhlach. She also appeared singing in different shows like ASAP and Masayang Tanghali Bayan (MTB), while doing commercials on the side.
In 2006, Boiser appeared on ABS-CBN’s teleserye “Calla Lily” led by fellow Star Circle Quest star Sharlene San Pedro. After a brief hiatus, she made a showbiz comeback in 2010 in GMA’s “Diva,” the first-ever kantaserye topbilled by Regine Velasquez, in which she played Sister Bertha. She also appeared in “Dwarfina” and “Munting Heredera.”
In movies, Boiser had prominent roles in in Bedtime Stories (2002), Magnifico (2003) and Nandito Ako… Nagmamahal Sa Yo (2009). Boiser did a cameo in “Biktima,” an indie film directed by US-based director RD Alba in 2012.
Delos Reyes included Boiser in shows featuring his all-male song-and-dance group “Masculados Dos.”
Boiser finished her elementary and high school at the Holy Spirit School in Tagbilaran City. She finished college major in English at the Divine Word College – Tagbilaran, now Holy Name University where she is said to have graduated with a law degree in 2019.
