Another song from Mindanao-based singer Shaira Moro has been removed from streaming platforms, as her track “Forever Single (Walang Jowa)” is nowhere to be found.

A week after getting involved in a copyright issue with Australian singer-songwriter Lenka over her viral cover “Selos,” Moro caught the attention of netizens after the X (formerly Twitter) page @allchartsPH reported that “Forever Single (Walang Jowa)” was removed from music streaming platforms on Sunday, March 24.

“Shaira’s ‘Forever Single (Walang Jowa)’ has also been taken down from online streaming platforms,” its post read.

The reasons behind the sudden takedown have yet to be revealed; however, some netizens pointed out that the melody of “Forever Single (Walang Jowa)” is similar to the 2013 song “Masih Mencintainya” by Indonesian band Papinka.

Moro’s label AHS Productions has yet to issue a statement about the removal of the song and allegations about the use of its melody, as of this writing.

Despite this, the agency appeared to clap back af Moro’s critics in a March 24 post, while accusing Filipinos of practicing “utak alimango” or crab mentality.

“Sana lang ay maalis na sa kaugalian nating mga Pinoy ang pagiging utak alimango. Matutunan nating iangat ang bawat isa. Lahat naman tayo pwedeng magkaroon ng kanya kanyang pwesto sa ibabaw. Sadyang ganun lang talaga pag trending o viral ka daming sasakay for their own benefit and gains,” it said.

“At sino ba naman kami? We are just Bangsamoro people, We are always at Peace. Tao lang rin na nagkakamali. Gusto lang namin magpasaya,” continued AHS.

(I hope Pinoys would stop from practicing crab mentality. Let’s lift one another. All of us will be on top at some point. It just so happens that people will get themselves involved with those who are trending or viral for their benefit and gains. Who are we? We are just Bangsamoro people, we are always at peace. We’re only human who makes mistakes. We just want to make people happy.)

The Mindanao-based singer was the subject of headlines after her song “Selos” was taken down from streaming platforms after a copyright claim from Lenka as the viral track used the melody of the latter’s 2008 song “Trouble is a Friend.” This led to the agency seeking permission from Lenka’s camp to turn the viral song into an “official cover.”

As Moro’s fans swarmed the Instagram page of Lenka, the former appealed to stop sending hate and negative comments.
