Lovi Poe is among the cast of a new project—the title of which has yet to be revealed—led by American producer-director Garry A. Brown, who is known for directing multiple seasons of Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

Poe’s casting in the movie was announced by Deadline in an exclusive report on Thursday, March 21.

The upcoming film is based on the true story of American fire captain Paul Fullerton “whose life is turned upside down when a career-ending accident draws him into marijuana and a collision course with the local district attorney and his small group of rogue police.”

Poe will play the character of Marie, Fullerton’s wife, while Canadian actor Adam Beach will portray the role of the fire captain. The filming will reportedly begin later this year in Dallas, Texas.

Poe shared Deadline’s report through her Instagram page, expressing her joy for being part of the upcoming project.

“Couldn’t be happier to share this with you guys. Really grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing filmmakers and be part of the inspiring true story of Paul and Marie Fullerton,” she said.

Aside from this project, Poe is also set to star in the upcoming Hollywood independent feature “Bad Man.” The indie film, which earlier finished its filming, also includes Seann William Scott, Johnny Simmons and Rob Riggle as cast members.

According to Deadline, the Filipino actress will also reportedly be part of Bill Kenwright’s feature film “My Sister’s Bones,” although further details on this have yet to be disclosed as of this writing.
