Vhong Navarro confirms Kapuso stars will grace ‘It’s Showtime’ stage
After the historic takeover of “It’s Showtime” on the GMA Network’s noontime slot, one of the show’s mainstay hosts, Vhong Navarro, confirmed that more Kapuso artists are set to appear on the ABS-CBN-backed variety show.
In a quick interview with Boy Abunda on Fast Talk during the momentous contract signing on Wednesday, March 20, Navarro shared that the structure of how the Kapuso stars will make an appearance on the noontime show are now being settled.
“Syempre dalawa na ang [network] na paglalabasan namin ngayon so mas doble ‘yung pagpapasaya namin sa madlang pipol at madlang kapuso. ‘Yung mga papasok po na Kapuso stars ay parang inaayos na po kung papaano, kung daily, iba-iba, or kung may mareregular po,” he said.
(Of course, there are already two [networks] where we will be broadcasting now, so we will have double the happiness of the Kapamilya and Kapuso audiences. The Kapuso stars who will be appearing in the show are currently being finalized. It’s still in talks if they will appear daily or not, or if there will be regular ones.)
The actor-host expressed his excitement now that “It’s Showtime” has moved to GMA, saying he couldn’t believe that he would live to see the day where the rivalry between the two networks would become a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Navarro’s co-host Anne Curtis said that it is a “surreal” feeling for her to have witnessed GMA and ABS-CBN’s partnership after all these years of rivalry.
“The move to GTV alone was already a historical moment. Ito talaga ‘yung, for the longest time, hindi mo maiisip ang ‘It’s Showtime’ mapupunta sa 12 noon timeslot ng GMA-7 at ngayon na po ‘yon, mangyayari na siya sa April 6… It’s so surreal. Parang never in my personal, wildest dreams inakala kong mangyayari ito,” she said to ABS-CBN.
Prior to this new partnership, “It’s Showtime” was being broadcast on GTV (Good Television), which was also owned by GMA, since July 2023.
