Sarah Geronimo and Carla Abellana are among the celebrities calling for justice for Killua, a dog who was beaten and found dead inside a sack.
Killua’s tragic death has been much talked about on social media after his furmom Vina Rachelle appealed for justice, drawing the attention of netizens and animal welfare organizations.
In Vina’s post, she was seen conversing with a man named Anthony Solares who admitted to killing the dog for allegedly biting him and one other individual. Solares then showed the sack where he kept Killua’s lifeless body.
Vina also showed a CCTV footage where a man, allegedly Solares, was seen chasing Killua. He was also seen hitting the dog before it ran away from him.
Celebrities including Geronimo, Abellana, Janella Salvador, Kim Atienza and Chie Filomeno then joined the public outcry over the cruelty that led to Killua’s death.
“This news is extremely heartbreaking. Walang kalaban-laban ‘yung aso,” Geronimo lamented on her X page. “Katulad nating mga tao, nakakaramdam din sila ng takot at sakit.”
“Every life deserves respect and protection. It’s time to demand accountability and raise our voices against animal cruelty,” she stressed. “Let’s unite in being the voice for the voiceless. Killua.. we will fight for you.”
