Kang Tae-oh — a South Korean actor best known for his lead role in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” — completed his mandatory military service after one year and six months.
The actor served as an active-duty soldier from September 2022 to March 2024, which he said was a “meaningful time” to “fix his bad habits,” in a statement obtained by Korean media outlet Sports Chosun.
“I enlisted after receiving great love from everyone after wrapping up ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo.’ I faced the end of my 20s and the start of my 30s in the military, and it was a meaningful time during which I fixed my bad habits and earned only good things,” he said via a Soompi translation.
Kang also promised fans that he would “impress with great projects” in his post-military activities.
“I will work to impress with great projects going forward, so please show lots of anticipation and love,” he said.
The actor’s agency Man of Creation also uploaded a clip of the actor thanking his fans for waiting for him during his mandatory military service.
Kang is reportedly “considering” to be part of the new series “Potato Research Institute” as his comeback project per Osen, although it remains unknown if he would accept the offer.
The actor made his acting debut in 2013. He starred in the K-dramas “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” “Doom at Your Service,” and “The Tale of Nokdu.”
