Kim Chiu got candid about how her heart is currently a “little empty,” stating as well that she knew nothing about her former actor boyfriend Xian Lim’s rumored new relationship.
The actress-TV host opened up about this after celebrity doctor Vicki Belo asked her how she had been, as seen in a vlog on the latter’s YouTube channel on Saturday, March 16.
“I’m okay. I’m doing good, busy with work… Ang puso, it’s a little empty pero okay naman (My heart is a little empty but it’s okay). It’s part of life and part of growing up,” Chiu said.
Chiu and Belo did not name Lim, although pictures of the former couple were flashing on the video while the two were talking about the actress’ recent breakup.

When asked what really happened to her previous relationship, Chiu did not go into detail and replied, “Wala naman. Baka magalit siya.” (Nothing really. He might get mad [at me].)
“Ano lang naman talaga, it’s a common understanding naman namin—mutual decision to end things and to move on with our lives,” she continued. “Medyo mahirap siya and you just have to accept lang siguro ‘yung mga bagay na wala ka nang control. You cannot push yourself naman sa isang bagay na not in the same wavelength.”
(We had a common understanding—a mutual decision to end things and to move on with our lives. It was quite hard, but you just have to accept things that are no longer in your control. You cannot push yourself to some things that are not in the same wavelength as yours.)
Belo, given Chiu and Lim’s 11-year-long relationship, further asked if there was an instance where Chiu questioned the actor: “Saan ba pupunta itong relationship natin?” (What’s going to happen to this relationship?)
“Hindi talaga. Hindi ako nagtatanong, pero iniisip ko,” the actress admitted. “It’s also of the reasons, of the many reasons. Hindi naman siya big factor pero syempre as we grow old, syempre iisipin mo na rin ‘yon.”
(I did not ask him but I thought of it. It’s also one of the many reasons. It was not a big factor but of course, as we grow old, it’s inevitable to think of those things.)
Nonetheless, Chiu believes she’s worth loving and that she has no regrets, only lessons learned. She also looks forward to having someone who will love her “unconditionally.”
“I want to give love [so that] someday, someone will give me his unconditional love,” she said, saying she hasn’t felt such love yet from a significant other, despite her past two long-term relationships.
At the latter part of the vlog, Belo asked Chiu to confirm if speculations of Lim’s new relationship with a certain someone from Viva Films was indeed true.
“Hindi ko alam, Doc. Wala akong idea,” Chiu answered. (I don’t know, Doc. I have no idea.)
It can be noted that Lim has been romantically linked to Iris Lee, a film producer under Viva Communications Inc. The two of them were spotted together in several instances, although they have yet to confirm or deny the dating speculations as of this writing.
Meanwhile, Chiu and Lim confirmed their breakup to the public on Dec. 23 last year, two days before Christmas Day.
