Kapuso actress Sheena Halili announced that she is expecting her second child as she posed for a self-maternity shoot.
On Instagram, the “StarStruck” alumna shared a topless self-portrait, showing off her baby bump while holding a bouquet.
“My body, a miraculous vessel of life, blooms again. Hello, baby number two!” she wrote.
In the comment section of her post, her husband, Jeron Manzanero, left a comment that affirms the excitement of the soon-to-be parents of two, saying, “Let’s do this! I love you!”
Halili and Manzanero tied the knot in 2020 and welcomed their first born, Martina, in December of the same year.
In January, the 37-year-old actress opened up in an interview with Smart Parenting that she struggles being a first-time mom, stressing that even though it’s difficult for her, she aims to give her kids gentle parenting.
“Nahihirapan pa ako bilang first time mom, i-balance. I-balance ang pagiging nanay, ang pagiging Sheena, at pagiging wife.
(I still struggle as a first-time mom. I struggle to balance being a mother, being Sheena, and being a wife. I’m still a little confused. I’m still at the point where I need to learn more. I still need time to balance.)
Na importante yung nararamdaman niya, yung opinion niya,” added the actress.
(But I want to go for gentle parenting. I’ll explain everything to my kid so I can acknowledge her feelings. I will make her understand why it is wrong, why it is right, and what she feels is important.)
Halili underscored that it’s normal that every mother wants to be “perfect” and do everything they can for their children, but it’s important that they give themselves the grace to navigate through motherhood and provide time for themselves as well.
“Gusto natin lahat maging perfect.
(We all want to be perfect [mothers]. Of course, we love our children. But it’s really important to give yourself time. You don’t have to leave home. You don’t have to be beautiful so someone can say that you have time for yourself. Even if you’re just in the bathroom, even if you’re just using your cell phone in the bathroom, even if you’re just putting on lipstick, [it’s already making a time for yourself])
