Barbie Forteza explains why she passed on Taylor Swift’s concerts
Barbie Forteza might be one of the biggest Swifties in local showbiz, but she confessed that attending the ongoing Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour — where Australia, Japan, and Singapore were among the recent stops — would be a “splurge” for her as she came from having her house built.
In an interview with entertainment journalist Nelson Canlas, Forteza said she would love to watch Swift in action if she would come to the Philippines.
“Kasi para sa akin — ito po ay sa akin lamang — I just feel like it is a splurge for me. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, if magpe-perform siya sa dito sa Pilipinas, I will definitely watch it,” she said on the Mar. 1 newscast of GMA’s 24 Oras.
(For me — and this is just my opinion — I just feel like it is a splurge for me. I told myself, if she would perform in the Philippines, I would definitely watch it.)
The actress also explained that she just came from investing her resources in her dream house, and to shell money for “flight, accommodation, and maximize [her] time” for Swift might be too much for her.

So, parang kasi if it’s just for that, I’d rather spend it on something else. Feeling ko naman magpe-perform siya ulit (sa Pilipinas) soon.”

Forteza nonetheless thanked fellow Kapuso star and close friend Rain Matienzo for buying her the concert merchandise for Swift’s tour during the interview.
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter is currently in Singapore for the sole Southeast Asia leg of her tour, which is held at the National Stadium on March 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9.
Among the celebrities who watched Swift’s record-breaking tour are Anne Curtis, Alexa Ilacad, Alex Gonzaga, and Toni Gonzaga, just to name a few.
