The “Voice Philippines” second-season grand winner, Jason Dy, expressed his desire to do a music collaboration with his former coach Sarah Geronimo.

In an interview with the press during the launch of his newest single, “Magsabi Ka Lang,” on Thursday, Feb. 29, Dy expressed the hope that the pop icon will say yes when he pitches a song that they could duet on.

“Pero syempre ang wish ko talaga sana matuloy is with Sarah Geronimo. I’m writing a song and ta-try kong ipitch kay coach Sarah. Sana makapag duet kami,” he shared.

The “Tawag ng Tanghalan” coach underscored that his “The Voice PH” journey contributed a lot to his successful career.

“It feels like it just happened yesterday. It’s been ages ago ‘yung pagkapanalo ko sa The Voice I’m so very thankful na I’m still able to do what I do and ito pa rin ‘yung ginagawa ko nine years after,” he said.

When asked if he’s willing to also serve as a coach in the current season of “The Voice PH,” Dy said, “Definitely, if they asked me. Huge honor. Talagang masasarado ‘yung circle from contestant to coach.”

The “Voice PH” fueled Dy’s musical career after he went to the blind auditions of the singing competition, chose Geronimo as his coach and emerged as the winner of that season.

Almost a decade into the industry, the 33-year-old singer shared some of his takeaways that continue to ground him as an artist.

“Enjoy what you do, love what you do, continue improving, continue learning things about what you do. Be nice, kind to people kasi kahit gaano ka kagaling kung ayaw ka trabaho ng mga tao wala rin,” he says.

Dy also shared that his newly released dance-pop single “Magsabi Ka Lang” is one of the tracks he wrote alongside “Gusto Ko Pa” and “Ulit-Ulit,” which mirrors the stages of grief arising from the death of a relationship.

The emerging singer teased that he looks forward to releasing more music and doing concert tours this year.
