Rod Marmol, the director behind the films “Cuddle Weather” and “The Cheating Game,” piqued the curiosity of netizens after expressing his dismay at a certain “starlet” who asked him to write a full-length script without giving proper compensation.

On his X (formerly Twitter) page on Tuesday, Feb. 27, Marmol called out the unnamed celebrity who supposedly had the nerve to ask for his services even though he was on vacation in Korea, then conveniently forgetting to pay him properly.

“Tigas ng mukha nitong actress na nagpasulat sa amin ng full-length script years ago habang nasa Korea kami at supposedly nagbabakasyon (na ang tagal namin pinag-ipunan) tapos hindi nagbayad kahit singkong duling kesyo hindi raw natuloy (her fault, not ours),” he said.

(How dare this actress request us to write a full-length script years ago while we were in Korea for a vacation that we saved up for a long time. We didn’t receive any payment, even a cent, because the project didn’t push through. Her fault, not ours.)

Marmol then called out the celebrity in a different post, saying they had the nerve to approach him as if nothing had happened between them.

“Tapos biglang nangungumusta ngayon kesyo naalala raw niya yung isa pa naming concept from years ago,” he said. “Bakit po??? ipapasulat mo ulit tapos di mo babayaran?? galing mo ma’am kurutin kita sa silicone eh.”

(Then this person had the nerve to catch up with us because they remembered a concept from years ago. Why? You’ll ask me to write without paying me again? You’re great, Ma’am. I’ll pinch you on the silicone.)

Marmol’s post intrigued netizens in the replies, which led him to clarify in a follow-up post on Wednesday, Feb. 28 that he was not referring to a certain “TG.” He also explained that he doesn’t want to disclose the actress’ identity as he promised his mentor that he would “forgive” her.

“Nagulat din ako na bigla siyang nagparamdam after years as if she did not hurt me, my career, my bank account. ‘Yung supposedly 1-week naming Korea vacation, 95% of the time ay nasa coffee shops sa Seoul lang kami kasi niraratrat namin na tapusin ‘yung script,” he said. “Todo follow up din siya that time kasi urgent daw ‘yung project kaya inilaban talaga namin.”

(I’m surprised that she approached me after years as if she did not hurt me, my career, and my bank account. Our 1-week vacation in Korea turned into us being at coffee shops in Seoul 95% of the time because we were rushing to finish the script. She also kept on following us up that time because the project was urgent so we tried our best to get it done.)

No actress has come forward to comment on Marmol’s post, as of this writing.
