Adele postpones Las Vegas shows to take vocal rest
Best-selling artist Adele is set to take a vocal rest amid ongoing health issues as she announced the postponement of her remaining shows in Las Vegas.
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer shared the news on her social media accounts and apologized to the fans for the pushback of the show as she needed to fully recover from a recent illness.
“Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s all taken a toll on my voice,” she wrote.
The award-winning singer said it is her doctors’ recommendation to take a pause and attend to her health and voice first, as she assured the fans that the shows are not cancelled but will only be pushed back to later dates.
“And so on doctor’s orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining five weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information asap,” said Adele.

In a report by Daily Mail UK, the “Easy on Me” singer opened up to the crowd about her current condition during one of her first shows in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She admitted that she is exhausted and her voice is taking a toll on that.
“In the middle of last night, I’m sure you can hear it in my talking voice and my singing voice a little bit. Your girl was tired. I didn’t sleep very well,” she said.
Adele referenced The Little Mermaid’s villain to describe her condition and affirmed she needs to have a voice rest as soon as possible.
“And Ursula from the ocean has come from my chest tonight. I can’t hit my headnotes properly. I didn’t sleep very well and my chest is on fire. Straight after this show I am going on voice rest,” she added.
In 2011, Adele underwent vocal cord surgery to relieve recurrent hemorrhaging caused by a benign polyp.
