Robin Padilla on Mariel Padilla, Toni Gonzaga’s friendship: ‘Walang iwanan’
Robin Padilla has nothing but good words for Toni Gonzaga who expressed support for his wife, her friend and fellow TV host Mariel Padilla, amid criticisms over the lattermost’s intravenous (IV) therapy session at the Senate office.
Through his Facebook page on Sunday, Feb. 25, the actor-turned-senator shared a report about Gonzaga sending a bouquet to Mariel. Also sent along with the blooms was a letter from Gonzaga that read: “Dear Ma, I love you. Hope you’re spending Sunday with the people who mean the most to you.”
“Ito ang tunay na kasama. Nakaharap at nakatalikod, hindi ka ihuhulog. Solid Ginang Toni Gonzaga,” Robin said. “Tinulungan na ako sa aking kandidatura, [wala] pang iwanan.”
(This is [an example of] a true friend. Someone who will not let you down with or without your knowledge. Ms. Toni Gonzaga is a solid one. She helped me during my candidacy and never left us.)
“Eh [‘yung] kasama na hindi ka pa tinatanong at hindi pa batid ang katotohanan hinulog kana,” he added, opting not to disclose whom he was referring to.

The TV host, who was at the Senate to support her husband following the passing of the Eddie Garcia Bill, said she conducted the IV drip session there because she was already late for her appointment with the drip services provider.
Sen. Nancy Binay, the Senate ethics committee chairperson, then vowed to “closely look” into the incident as it involved issues of the Senate’s reputation as well as health and safety.
Both Mariel and Robin have offered their apologies, with the senator saying it was not his wife’s intention to breach the Senate’s protocols and cause disrespect to the institution.
