Philippine fashion icon Heart Evangelista is celebrating her 39th birthday today, Valentine’s Day, and one of the gifts she received is a new ring with a giant diamond from her husband, Chiz Escudero.
The Kapuso star reposted clips on her Instagram Stories that showed her “birthday salubong” on Balesin Island with family and friends. At exactly midnight, Evangelista was surrounded by her loved ones as they sang her a happy birthday.
In the IG Stories, the socialite locked lips with Escudero and was seen unboxing a new ring that comes with a giant white diamond centerpiece from the politician. The couple are also set to renew their wedding vows today.
In a press interview during a skin-care event on Feb. 12, Evangelista affirmed that their renewal of vows is something “she needs” at this point in her life as she sees marriage in a different light now.
“As a married couple, it’s really meaningful for us to have this moment. And there are so many other things happening around me, so this is the perfect time for us,” she said.
“I thought I knew what love was, but now I know what love should be. And so I feel like I’m getting married actually for the first time again,” added the actress.
The fashion influencer also recently opened up about wanting to have a baby again after a few miscarriages in the past.
“And I feel like if there’s any moment that I should be blessed with a baby, it should be now because I feel like I’m ready as a person and I would be able to give more, because I’ll be able to tell her more and share more wisdom,” she remarked.
In 2015, Evangelista and Escudero tied the knot on Balesin. On Thursday, Feb. 15, the couple will mark their ninth wedding anniversary.
